Sustainability

Environmental Impact

The long term direct and indirect effects of a development on the environment are vital considerations. Sustainable solutions promote a low carbon lifestyle, creating a low carbon footprint and minimising waste to reduce the effects of climate change as well as maintaining and prolonging the life of a community for all to live, work, and enjoy.

Renewable Energy

We have analysed and designed a complete range of renewable energy sources to reduce carbon emissions across a range of projects. These have included:

Energy Certification

A series of measures are being introduced across Europe to reflect legislation which will help cut buildings' carbon emissions and tackle climate change. Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) for non-dwellings are required when a building is constructed, sold or let. An EPC provides an energy rating for the building to show how energy efficient it is based on the performance potential of the building itself (the fabric) and its services (such as heating, ventilation and lighting).

Other changes include requiring public buildings – for example town halls, libraries, hospitals – to display certificates showing the energy efficiency of the building. A Display Energy Certificate (DEC) shows the energy performance of a building based on actual energy consumption as recorded annually over periods up to the last 3 years (the Operational Rating). We are qualified to provide EPCs and DECs when needed.
